Dramatic Growth in Global Business
The dramatic growth in multinational business operations has precipitated a need for a standardized expense process that can account for local policies and allow for enterprise-wide spend visibility. A recent study indicates that the number of European expense reports filed electronically (rather than in local paper-based systems) rose from 44 percent in 2004 to 65 percent this year (Business Travel News, July 17, 2006).
