For more than 100 years, Gelco
has built a reputation for an unrivaled level of personal service. During our Annual National Customer Conference, that high-touch accessibility was very much in evidence. Even though this inaugural conference was attended by more than 260
customers and partners, the Gelco team made the event an intimate and personal experience. As a result, the information-packed days providing an opportunity for public and private sector customers and partners to personally share experiences, hear
success stories, swap strategies, and network with the Gelco team. The conference got off to a rousing start with a welcome reception and partner fair as attendees arrived on Sunday evening. The high-energy continued as the event officially opened the following morning with a video presentation and welcome by Jon Klem, Gelco president and CEO. A high-profile customer panel featuring blue-chip customers Boeing, Environment Protection Agency, Toshiba America, The Griffin Company, and Coors Brewing then provided attendees with a peer perspective. Gelco Expense Management executives, Dave Rotman and Cameron Anderson, then wrapped up the morning session with a joint presentation that highlighted the latest Gelco developments and the company’s future vision for travel expense management. The Right Information in the Right Place Monday afternoon marked the start of targeted sessions designed to provide customers with the information they need to get more from their Gelco solution. Customers could choose from 37 sessions, including 9 customer presentations, in three different tracks—Public Sector Travel Management, Corporate Expense Management, and Personal Development. The Public Sector track presented strategies and processes that enable higher education institutions, government contractors, and state, local, and federal government agencies to more efficiently maximize their travel budget dollars. Specific sessions included tips, techniques, and best practices for Gelco Travel Manager, Section 508 compliance, and electronic signatures and data security. The Corporate Expense Management track explored best practices for driving down costs, increasing operational efficiency, and boosting the return of corporate travel expenses. Individual sessions focused on areas such as account maintenance, administrative efficiency, global expense management, and corporate card program maximization. The Personal Development track was an opportunity for attendees to improve the efficiency of their personal work habits. This three-session track focused on tips for improving day-to-day performance, not just travel-related work habits. Participants learned how to retool their skill set while working in the fast lane, how to more effectively communicate with peers and supervisors, and how to use their unique leadership style to improve their effectiveness. The Non-Stop Conference On Monday evening, the party moved to the BET Soundstage and Adventurers Club in Downtown Disney. Gelco played host with a lavish dinner and a fun-filled evening of music and activity to help attendees relax, unwind, and network with their peers. The next day, the conference sessions continued, providing additional opportunities for customers to learn strategies and best practices designed to produce even greater return from Gelco solutions. After the conference, customer comments indicated that the conference had hit on all cylinders. Customers praised the personal interactions and level of contact with the Gelco team. One attendee even wrote, “your service/customer focus came through loud and clear in a sincerely professional expression of corporate commitment.” In other words, Gelco keeps burnishing its reputation for service. |
